This product does a great job of leveling a ladder and keeping the weight off until a leveler is needed. Also, with 2 kits I was able to put base units on 2 ladders and now I can snap one or 2 levelers onto either one of my ladders. It only takes a few seconds to attach or detach them. It is the only leveling system I have ever seen that snaps directly onto the outside of the ladder rail, thereby avoiding any interference with the base section and the fly section of the ladder. It has a 375 pound duty rating and adjusts easily in 3/16″ increments up to 10″ with a touch of my toe. The foot pedal snaps out to extend the leg and snaps up for storage. Ther upper pedal is easy to reach with my thumb and I simply press it down a tiny bit and the leg slowly retracts back up. It’s a great tool for saving time and keeping safe. It’s also the only leg leveler on the market that actually has a fully automatic, back-up, safety lock. It activates as soon as any weight is placed on the leveler leg. I really like that, especially when I’m 20 feet in the air. Bottom line is that this is a super product, sold by the largest ladder company in the world, Werner. They wouldn’t sell it if it wasn’t a good quality product.

The only installation instructions show this to be attached to the straight section of the ladder. However, this would preclude using all three sections of the ladder (MT type) even though the instructions say it can be used for MT types. Has anyone installed this on the non-straight section?

I’ve had this ladder for a year for access to my garage attic. I like that it’s aluminum and we haven’t had any problems with people of 240lbs repeatedly climbing it. The only real problem I have with it (and this may be our fault during installation) is we have to bang one of the elbows with the pull-stick to get it to bend the other way so it can be opened. This needs to be done on one side every time it’s opened. Not a big deal since we don’t go up it every day. Otherwise it’s working very well and MUCH better than a wooden ladder.

I ordered the Werner A2508 folding attic ladder June 3rd so that I’d have it on hand when I needed to install it in the attic of my new house I’m constructing. I’m now finally ready install the brand new Werner A2508 in the house. I opened it up for the first time yesterday only to discover that it was assembled completely out of square with the bolt holes drilled well over a half an inch off all along one of the 54″ sides. Because of this when they stapled the frame together the main hinge across the end is wrenched making the ladder unable to be opened and/or installed. Even if it could be installed (it’s not close to square so won’t fit my square opening) it couldn’t be trimmed out. I’m appalled and now I may not even be able to return it because it is past 30 days even though it’s brand new (and junk). Boy did I learn a hard one here!

Bought model A2508. It was shipped from the seller’s facility. Received the product missing 1 of the 2 springs and with one leg bent like a pretzel. Product carton is 75lb test single wall corrugated with no insert to prevent movement. It was broken open basically on all sides with parts sticking out. Tried to have a replacement order entered just to find out that the product was no longer available. Werner by the way filed for Chapter 11, I’m not surprised.

I rated it a 4 because of ‘they’ cheaped out on the 5/8″ wood frame that attaches to the framed-out 2×6′s in the ceiling. I believe the wood was fur but I think that for the price of the item and the quality of the rest of the ladder, they should have spent another 5 dollars. Apparently the designers never have first hand experience with the end results of their designs. The aluminum provides good rigidity after repeated use. I installed it myself. I’m 59 and 155# and did not have a problem.

I have an unusually high 10′-5″ ceiling in my garage. My 15 year old wooden access ladder was designed for 10′-0″ and was all I could find in 1993. The Werner A2510 will reach a height of 10′-5″ per specs. I was advised by the factory that it could be extended to 10′-7″ which was perfect for my application. I ordered the ladder from Amazon and it was built to order by Werner and delivered in four weeks. I am impressed by the heavy duty stiffness of the aluminum stairs compared to a wooden ladder. My wooden ladder (cracked a side rail) failed because it wasn’t long enough for my application. The A2510 arrived with some missing bolts and a sloppily framed 1″x4″ base that anchors the ladder to the pulldown door. In spite of this, it fit PERFECTLY out of the box and did not require any further height adjustments from the ceiling to the floor. The A2510 would have been rated 5 stars had it not been for the sloppy workmanship and missing hardware. The aluminum stairs are extremely solid and are designed to take a 300 load.
